There are many road and infrastructure projects happening throughout our community - including water utility work and other local construction projects.

As you travel through work zones, please help keep workers, other drivers, and pedestrians safe by:

✔Slowing down and obeying posted speed limits
✔Staying alert and avoiding distractions
✔Following signs, cones, and flagger instructions
✔Allowing extra travel time for delays and detours
✔Giving workers and equipment plenty of space

Whether it's a water main project, road improvements, or other construction activities, a little extra patience and caution can make a big difference!

As we head in to Memorial Day weekend, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

As we continue celebrating National Public Works Week, here’s a quote from OCWA engineer Debbie on why public works matters to her:

"I enjoy working in public works because I get to see projects evolve from the initial concept all the way through to completion, and there's a sense of pride in watching something tangible come to life. It also gives me a sense of purpose to assist with projects that will benefit so many people now and in the future (whether they realize it or not).

Just as rewarding are the relationships built along the way. I've met so many dedicated people and those connections are what make the work especially joyful."
