is a nonprofit community-based organization with the mission of helping people in the community realize their potential for becoming self-sufficient. is a federal designated Community Action Agency (CAA) that serves nearly 10,000 clients in Syracuse, Onondaga County, and portions of Oswego County. With a guiding principle of “Maximum Feasible Participation,” or the concept that those who are served by the CAA must also be involved with the organization’s decision-making processes, the agency pursues a mission to “help people in the community realize their potential for becoming self-sufficient.” It does so through 9 antipoverty services:

The PEACE, Inc. Senior Nutrition staff enjoyed celebrating the first anniversary of its Skaneateles Dining Site at First Presbyterian Church. Attending seniors enjoyed stuffed peppers and live music. Donations were raised for the Skaneateles Food Pantry as well. Special thanks to the many volunteers associated with Seniors of Skaneateles who help to make this community a thriving one!

Last week, PEACE, Inc. hosted our annual Staff Appreciation Day, giving our team an opportunity to come together, relax, and celebrate the important work they do for our community.❤️🙌

PEACE, Inc. staff enjoyed a day filled with music, food, games, raffles, and plenty of fun. Staff had the chance to win prizes during Human Slots and Bingo, while a basket raffle took place throughout the event. And, of course, there was a little unexpected excitement along the way as some of our staff found themselves battling the bees! 🐝

Staff Appreciation Day is about more than just having fun. It is a chance for employees from across PEACE, Inc. to connect with one another, build relationships, and celebrate being part of the same team. Our staff work hard every day to support children, families, seniors, and individuals throughout our community, and we are grateful for everything they do.🌟

Thank you to all of our PEACE, Inc. staff for the dedication, compassion, and energy you bring to your work every day. We appreciate you all!

Jenn Gaffney truly loves her job as the Manager of the Foster Grandparent Program of PEACE, Inc. She has spent many years as a teacher, mostly in Special Education, and as a site Director for a child care center, before leaving work for a few years to care for her husband.

Outside of work, she enjoys nature and camping, reading, and creating art. She can regularly be found at a pool table, where she plays in a weekly league. She also loves to try new recipes and can bake a great loaf of bread (thanks, Grandma!).

She is extremely happy to support the seniors who volunteer, and through their work, help children grow and learn. The best part of her job is seeing the beautiful, valuable moments of connection between a senior volunteer and a small child!
