Worth County Citizens:

I am writing to express my sincere gratitude to you, the citizens of Worth County, all agencies, local businesses, and the number of employees who have diligently worked with me over the past 38 years. I have been so fortunate to have had an opportunity to serve the county where I was born and grew up in a variety of roles, beginning in January, 1983 as a Deputy Clerk and culminating to my service as Clerk of Superior Court from 2010 to December 31, 2020.

When I reflect on the last 38 years, many moments come to mind. I picture events that will forever be emblematic of the importance, and occasional humor, of my work as the record keeper. Among the most rewarding experiences were the opportunities to train deputy clerk in all fields, initiatives, and strategies to move my Department and County forward and to provide some measure of services to the public and Worth County, while moving Worth County with the latest technology resource available.

I have been fortunate to have worked with many local, state, private and other agencies. From my employees to all agencies, attorneys, court officials, judges, vendors and the entire Tifton Judicial Circuit; there are so many who helped me accomplish our work every day. I extend a heart-felt thank you.

When I was hired, my only goal was to get in there, do my very best and not let Ms. Sarah E. Brooks regret hiring me. A motto I share that is true to my spirit “The best prize that life has to offer is to be given the chance to work hard at work worth doing.” I hope that my efforts have, in some small way, embodied the essence of this statement. Thirty-seven years of history has been made, I’m proud to say being raised by my grandparents, they along with my mom would be so proud of me.

As I close, again I reiterate that I am honored to have been fortunate enough to serve the county where I was born and raised. As I prepare for the final chapter of my career, I am confident that my many years of service as the Clerk of Superior Court of Worth County has spoken well for me. I look forward to enjoying my retirement and whatever God has waiting for me in my next chapter. God bless each of you.

Respectfully,
Brenda W. Hicks

TO ALL WORTH COUNTY U S MILITARY VETERANS:
RECORDING YOUR DD-214 FOR SAFEKEEPING AT THE CLERK OF SUPERIOR COURT

NO CHARGE

I have discovered many veterans do not know about having their DD-214 recorded for safekeeping. Even if your DD-214 has been recorded somewhere else and you are now living in Worth County, simply bring your DD-214 to the Clerk of Superior Court’s Office located at 201 North Main Street, Room #13, Sylvester, GA and we will record it in our records. If there comes a time you need a certified copy, then we will be able to provide one for you at No Charge. This is a free service to all our veterans that my office is delighted to offer.
DD-214 is issued by the Department of Defense when a person is discharged by the military.

WE APPRECIATE ALL VETERANS FOR YOUR SERVICE AND SACRIFICE TO OUR COUNTRY

This is being shared and it’s very important information to everyone.

Good morning!

Over the past several months, the Governor’s Complete Count Committee (CCC) has been hard at work to ensure that every Georgian is counted in the 2020 U.S. Census. The statewide marketing campaign, launched by the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget, is a nonpartisan initiative called “Every. One. Counts.”

Georgia self-response rate is currently behind the national average at 59.1 percent. In order to catch up and reach our goal of a complete count, we have got to hunker down and connect with Georgians in every community across the state – big and small – before the September 30th response deadline.

Please, share information about the 2020 Census with those in your community. Post on your city or county’s social media pages. At this time, it is important that we really push folks to respond. Doing so will help them, their community, and our great state for the next ten years.

Information to share with the citizens of Worth County: The Georgia Superior Court Clerks’ Authority has informed us that we are following the Indexing Standards.

Congratulations !

Your office is one of the 47 counties in the state where the Authority has found no indexing errors in the recent reviews the Authority conducted statewide as a part of the Current Indexing Improvement Initiative. This review consisted of a survey of “current” indexing entries for deeds designed to identify areas of emphasis for individual improvement and general training purposes. A description of the scope of the entire Initiative is found below.

The results for your office is a very positive indicator that you and your staff are successfully following the Indexing Standards in processing your Deed Docket real estate instruments. While not insuring that your records are totally error free, the results are reassuring that your office is performing at a high accuracy level.

The Authority will continue with additional efforts and new tools to assist all clerks with their indexing efforts.

If you have any questions about this report or the Current Indexing Improvement Initiative or anything else we can help with just let any Authority staff member know.
