⏰Notices of Candidacy & filing fees must be received on time. You must file in-person or we must receive your completed, notarized paperwork & fees within the filing period.
⏰Bring your ID & filing fee (our office can only accept checks).

Voter registration & absentee ballot request communications are ramping up! It's important to be vigilant & avoid scams, but also make sure you're prepared for voting!

Here's a couple things to remember to be safe, but ready:

✉️ We do not send random mass voter registration or absentee request form mailings or text voter reg info! These largely come from civic groups, parties etc. - but could be helpful; just read closely!

📫 Receiving a letter doesn't mean something's wrong! Understand the context - maybe they know you've moved, think someone in your house hasn't registered, or know you've requested by-mail before & want to make sure you don't miss it this time.

🚫These mailers & texts from organizations should include unsubscribe options.

🖱️You can verify your registration info 24/7 at https://vt.ncsbe.gov/RegLkup/. Check this before you fill out any new forms.

📑 If you do make changes on a voter reg form, we will mail you a confirmation card. If you request an absentee ballot, distribution begins Sept. 4 & you can utilize BallotTrax to check the status of yours. https://northcarolina.ballottrax.net/voter/

The Jackson Co. Board of Elections will be closed Monday in observance of Memorial Day. May this holiday afford you the opportunity to reflect on the service & sacrifices that sustain our country.

Young folks, this is great inspiration for your "I Voted" sticker designs! Think about the significance of Memorial Day, Independence Day & Election Day & what they mean to the USA - convey that in a picture!

🏅🏆🏅What a great time today at Jackson County NC Special Olympics ! We loved hanging out with these talented athletes, their school staff & families! Congrats to all the athletes! 🏅🏆🏅

We have received calls from local voters receiving mailings about updating their voter registrations. Our office has not done a recent bulk mailing so these are likely from other organizations. Non-partisan or advocacy groups do send broad letters to encourage folks update their information or register to vote & sometimes that's confusing.
