📢 Community Notification

The Sylacauga Police Department would like to inform residents in the Coaling Road and Walnut Street areas that a representative from Elite Level Management, an authorized AT&T dealer, will be conducting door-to-door sales in the area.

The representative has provided the required documentation and is properly licensed to conduct business within the City of Sylacauga. Residents may see the representative visiting homes to discuss AT&T products and services.

As always, we encourage citizens to verify identification before engaging with any door-to-door salesperson. If you have concerns regarding suspicious activity or someone claiming to represent a business without proper identification, please contact the Sylacauga Police Department.

🐴 UPDATE: THE HORSE HAS RETURNED HOME! 🏡

Earlier today, officers were called to assist with a brown horse that was found wandering within the City of Sylacauga. We are happy to report that the horse has safely made its way back home and has been reunited with its owner.

We would like to thank everyone who shared our post, called with information, and helped spread the word. The quick response from our community played a big role in bringing this story to a happy ending.

As always, we appreciate the support of our citizens and are glad this four-legged visitor is back where he belongs!

🐴 FOUND HORSE IN SYLACAUGA 🐴

Good morning, Sylacauga!

Our officers have safely recovered a brown horse that was found wandering within the city this morning. The horse appears to be in good condition, and we would love to reunite it with its owner as soon as possible.

If you are missing a brown horse, or know someone who may be, please contact Central Dispatch at 256-761-1556 and choose Option #8.

⚠️ SCAM ALERT ⚠️

The Sylacauga Police Department was recently informed of a scam attempt involving a phone call appearing to come from “The City of Sylacauga” using the old police department phone number of 256-245-4334.

The caller falsely identified himself as Chief of Police Rondell Muse and advised the resident that there was an issue involving their account. Fortunately, the resident recognized the suspicious activity and immediately hung up the phone.

Please be advised:

🚫 Chief Rondell Muse will NOT personally call citizens regarding scams, bank accounts, payments, or financial matters.

🚫 The Sylacauga Police Department will NEVER request money, banking information, gift cards, or personal account details over the phone.

Scammers are capable of “spoofing” phone numbers to make calls appear legitimate. Always use caution when receiving unexpected calls requesting personal or financial information.

If you receive a suspicious phone call:
• Do not provide any personal information
• Hang up immediately
• Contact the Sylacauga Police Department directly through official contact information to verify the call

Despite the rumors making the rounds on social media, the Sylacauga Police Department would like to assure the public that no banks in Sylacauga have been robbed today.

All local financial institutions are operating normally, and there is no active threat to public safety related to any bank robbery incident.

We encourage everyone to verify information before sharing posts online. False information can create unnecessary panic and confusion within the community.

As always, if you witness suspicious activity or have concerns, please contact the Sylacauga Police Department through the appropriate non-emergency or emergency channels.
