When politicians don't hold offenders accountable, criminals don't fear consequences and public safety is put in jeopardy.

Illinois' electronic monitoring system is broken, and Democrats' risky pre-trial release policies have put our communities at risk. My Republican colleagues and I have introduced more than 40 bills to fix these failures. All have been ignored by the majority Democrats. We need to take action to fix these failing public safety policies.

One of the greatest events of the year was held Wednesday night, the Kane County 4-H Foundation Auction dinner. It’s a night to celebrate the kids that are doing so much in the world of agriculture in our area and the people that are there to support them. Could not be prouder of the work these young people are doing. Thank you once again to my peer, State Representative Dan Ugaste for working with me and all the support he provides to 4-H throughout the year.

Sadly, human trafficking and the exploitation of vulnerable children are tragedies that happen in the shadows of our communities more often than most of us realize. Illinois has made great strides in the past few years in improving our laws to hold these abusers accountable and improve protections for victims. However, we must always remain vigilant as these criminals evolve their methods.

This grant will help expand digital forensics capabilities in the fight against the exploiters and increase protection for our most vulnerable. Kudos to Kane County law enforcement for your work protecting our communities!
