Currently, there is an organization called 'Illinois Opportunity Project.' which is already fiercely opposing this bill. I am willing to guess it is funded by Democrats who always use fear tactics. See FairVote Illinois page and follow links to file a witness slip.
See comment below to see how the opposition is positioning themselves.

Help LPIL Defend Petition Signatures in Springfield, IL this coming Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday

The Libertarian Party of Illinois (LPIL) gathered nearly 37,000 signatures in the past three months to place its seven candidate statewide slate on the ballot for the General Election in November 2022.

But, the powers that be in Illinois have objected to the full LP statewide slate being placed on the ballot. Illinois is a "challenge state," meaning that once petition signatures have been challenged, the LP must defend the validity of the signatures at the State Board of Elections in order to make the ballot.

The LPIL must mount a defense of our petition signatures in Springfield, IL starting at 9 AM on Wednesday, July 27. The signature defense process will likely continue into Thursday, July 28, and possibly into Friday, July 29.

We will need at least 12 people at the State Board of Elections in Springfield during the entire process.

This is a very important matter, and we humbly ask for your assistance.

If you can be in Springfield, IL no later than 9 AM (Central Time) this coming Wednesday through the end of the business day on Friday, please email Bill Redpath at bill.redpath@lp.org as soon as possible.

PLEASE include your PHONE NUMBER in the email, so he can call you to discuss in more detail this crucial situation for the LPIL.

Lodging expenses will be reimbursed for up to $150 a night.

Thank you for assisting the LPIL in maintaining ballot access for its full statewide slate in 2022.

TIF grants are little burst of cash for businesses but don't provide long term sustainability through lower taxes or more friendly business regulations.

Ariel Ries, owner of Fargo Skateboarding in downtown DeKalb, said she views the city’s support of the skateboarding shop through a $8,616 tax increment finance grant as a sign that better days await.
