Happy Pumpkin Fest, Southeast Spartans🎃Enjoy your long weekend, & we will see you Tuesday! 🖤💛💜

Who else loved when the PE teacher brought out the parachute? If you had Mr. Lamont in the old Southeast gym, you probably have fond memories of those days! Luckily for our current Southeast Spartans, Mr. Ryan has continued the tradition. Mrs. Mallar’s kindergarten class had the best time with it today!

🍂📚 What a gourd time Southeast Spartans had at our Pumpkin Patch Book Fair last week! 🎃🌽 From Family Night to our special Grand Event, we loved seeing our students, families, and grandparents come together to celebrate the joy of reading. ❤️ Thank you to everyone who helped make our week so special and filled with wonderful memories! 📖🍁

At last week’s Portrait of a Spartan all-school assembly, students were recognized for being Communicator Champions! Staff had the opportunity to nominate a student who has exhibited the characteristics of an Effective Communicator. Well done, Spartans!

The Vertical Raise top sellers for each grade level were also recognized- and awarded with a handmade pillow! Thanks again to our Southeast community for your support!

We want to inform you that Southeast Elementary School has been experiencing a partial power outage since approximately 11:15 AM today, Monday, October 12, 2026.

Water and restroom facilities remain fully operational. However, the building's HVAC system and school phone lines are currently down. ComEd is on-site working to restore power, and we anticipate a quick resolution.

While the school's phone lines are unavailable, families who need to contact the school should visit the Southeast main office in person or call the District Administration Center at 815-899-8100 and select Communications.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this temporary disruption. We will provide an additional update once power has been fully restored.

Friday was another exciting day at Southeast Elementary! Two students were able to take advantage of their purchased Spartan Experiences at the September Store - announcements for the day and guest crossing guard!
And, by 3:00 PM we reached the schoolwide fundraiser goal of $20,000!
Thank you, Spartans, for pumping the volume all the way up🎸🎤🎼 A library glow up is coming soon 👏🏻

Monday was a gorgeous morning for a special ride to school for our Southeast Spartans!

Congratulations to our Fire Prevention Essay & Poster Contest winner! We’re so proud of your creativity and commitment to learning about fire safety—and what better way to celebrate than arriving at school in a fire truck! ❤️👩‍🚒👨‍🚒

Thank you to our amazing Sycamore firefighters for making this such a memorable experience! 🚒✨🖤💛💜
