💧☀️Water Wednesday: Jumping into Summer Safety!

June is National Safety Month, and as the temperatures heat up, the Water Ambassador program is highlighting how vital water is to staying safe, healthy and hydrated all summer long.

Whether you are working outdoors, relaxing by the pool, or hosting backyard barbecues, keep these three essential summer safety tips in mind.
1. Beat the heat by taking breaks, knowing the signs of heat exhaustion and staying hydrated.
2. Summer is peak season for outdoor water recreation, making water safety a top priority.
3. Keep it clean! Rising temps mean food safety requires extra care. Wash hands and produce well, keep coolers packed with plenty of ice and ensure perishables stay at safe temperatures.

To access free toolkits, downloadable resources, and daily messaging plans, you can utilize the National Safety Council (NSC) portal.

💧 Water quality is a top priority for Sycamore’s employees, residents, and businesses. We believe the key to continued improvement is ongoing communication between the city and our community. Have a question? Give Public Works a call at 815-895-3545.
