Town of Swepsonville

Town of Swepsonville The Town of Swepsonville provides water and sewer services to around 1500 accounts.

In the coming days, the Town will begin mapping water meters throughout the entire service area. As part of this process, you will notice crews (wearing AWCK vests) visually inspecting or using equipment to locate your meter. Once located, additional equipment will be used to plot the coordinates. This process should take just a few minutes and at no time will your service be impacted. It’s estimated the entire process could take a couple of weeks pending several variables.

If any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at Town Hall 336-578-5644

Earlier this week, the Town’s contractor for the East Main St. Waterline Replacement began connecting services to the new 12” line. When fully opening the valve(s), the contractor and engineers took precautions to try and avoid disturbances to surrounding residents. Unfortunately, once the new 12” line became fully open, it caused some areas to experience some discoloration.

The discoloration stemmed from the flow of water in given areas (temporarily) changing direction due to the existing line continuing to remain open. With some time, the water will settle, and this matter should resolve itself. However, opening a faucet for a few minutes could assist in clearing up the matter. Additionally, once all connections are made, the contractor and engineers will look to shut-down the existing line, thus, leaving the new 12” in service.

For those who have noticed discoloration over the past couple of days, we apologize for any inconvenience. If ANY questions, please do not hesitate to reach out DIRECTLY to Town Hall at 336-578-5644.
