Believe it or not, it is now half way through the first quarter of school! In the past, we would print and send home interim reports at this time. However, the district will not be printing these paper reports this year. But, thanks to technology, you can access grades - as well as attendance - in the HAC portal. Plus, you have this access 24 hours a day all year long!

So, we are asking you to check online for the progress of your student's grades if you haven't already done so. If you need any assistance with logging in, you can call the school and ask for Ms. Mechille Williams, our school registrar.

If you have questions about a specific grade, please email the teacher for that course and let them know.

We are here to help!

The first home football game of the season is this week! Be sure to note that Mills High students must have their ID badges with them to enter the game, and all students younger than 14 must be accompanied by an adult (21 or older). The flyer provides you a QR code or a link to purchase tickets in advance so you don't have to have cash at the gate. Come out and support the Comets on Friday!

On Thursday, September 10th, Mills University Studies High School students will be allowed to pay $1 and get a wristband that will allow them to wear a hat in the building all day!

Remember, these need to be actual hats. We are not allowing beanies or skull caps or bonnets and such. Plus, hoods on hoodies are not hats. But all real hats are welcome for the $1.00.

So, have students bring their dollar on Thursday and help us fundraise for student incentives and activities for this year!

The Mills feeder pattern schools were honored to host Mr. Kyle Greene, motivational speaker, on their campuses this week.

At Mills University Studies High School, the student body got to hear from him on Tuesday, September 1st when he spoke on the topic that Your Life Has a P.U.R.P.O.S.E.™ — progress over perfection.

Students were super engaged and very excited to learn from him. His life story was one that moved and motivated, and you can see that one of his mantras was "My Later Will Be Greater Than My Now."

More about Mr. Greene can be found at this link:

Students in Ms. Young-Rice's art class recently got to participate in a sculpture building competition. They got 10 sheets of paper, a roll of tape, and two pairs of scissors. After 25 minutes, the table with the largest sculpture was the winning group. They learned that a flat piece of paper can become all sorts of shapes!
