Please join us in welcoming Craig King to the US Fire Pump team!

We’re excited to have Craig join us, bringing with him more than 30 years of experience in the fire service and industrial emergency response. In his role, Craig will support our industrial sales efforts, serve as a training specialist, and contribute his expertise in emergency response. He will be based out of our Vidor, TX office.

Craig began his fire service career at just 15 years old with Sweeney Fire & Rescue. By 18, he became a Senior Firefighter and worked his way through the ranks, ultimately being appointed Fire Chief in 2003.

In 2000, he entered the industrial fire service at the Chevron Phillips Sweeney Complex, where he served as a firefighter, rescue team member, EMT-B, and Fire Team Captain. During his time there, he also contributed to corporate fire schools and was a member of the Sweeney Complex Competition Rescue Team.

Craig later fulfilled a lifelong goal by becoming a full-time instructor with Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), helping train the next generation of emergency responders. He went on to serve as an Emergency Response Team (ERT) Leader with Fluor Federal and continued advancing his leadership with Goodyear Chemical and Indorama Ventures, where he most recently served as Senior Emergency Response Coordinator.

In addition to his field experience, Craig was honored in 2024 with board positions on both the Texas Industrial Emergency Services Board and the International Association of Fire Chiefs Industrial Fire & Safety Committee.

Craig has built strong relationships across the industry and is passionate about continuous learning and sharing knowledge—focusing not just on how things are done, but why they’re done.

We’re proud to have him on board and look forward to the impact he’ll make!

The members of Sweeny Fire and Rescue would like to extend our sincere thanks to the wonderful ladies of First Baptist Church for stopping by with treats cards and especially lifting our firefighters up in prayer. Your kindness, encouragement, and support mean more than words can express. It is a true blessing to serve a community that stands behind and truly cares for its first responders.

We appreciate you thinking of us and for keeping our firefighters in your prayers as we continue to serve and protect our community. 🚒🙏

Yesterday, we had the privilege of empowering our future generations with fire safety knowledge at Sweeny Elementary School, in celebration of Fire Prevention Month. This highly anticipated annual event motivates Sweeny firefighters, as it provides a unique opportunity to inspire and engage children in a hands-on experience with our apparatus and equipment. A special thanks goes out to Sweeny Elementary School for allowing us to continue to return annually to present this uplifting program.

It's that time of the year again, folks. This time, we've added another team. Our brothers and sisters providing emergency medicine in the field will be trading in their stethoscopes for softball bats in our 2nd annual softball tournament this year. Please come out and support your area first responders. We will have a blast and lots of laughs.
