The Swanzey Selectboard will hold an important public meeting and information session for residents who utilize the West Swanzey sewer system. The meeting is scheduled for Saturday, September 19th at 9:00 AM and will be held at Whitcomb Hall, located at 17-23 Main Street in Swanzey.

The primary purpose of this informational session is to present and discuss the new rate schedule, as well as crucial future plans for the West Swanzey water treatment facility.

Major long-term decisions regarding the facility’s future must be made by the community. The Selectboard is strongly encouraging public attendance, as community input is critically needed before these items are formally placed on the town election ballot in March of 2027.

Please note that these upcoming structural and rate changes will exclusively affect residents who are connected to the West Swanzey sewer system. The changes will NOT impact all town residents. However, the meeting is open to the public, and any resident who wishes to learn more or provide feedback is welcome to attend.

Town of Swanzey Seeks Community Input for Hazard Mitigation Plan Update

The Town of Swanzey is in the process of updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan, a vital tool used to identify local risks—such as flooding, severe storms, and winter weather—and to outline
strategies that reduce their impact on our community. As part of this effort, we are seeking input from residents, business owners, and other stakeholders through a brief Hazard Mitigation Survey.

Please feel welcome to come into Town Hall and write on our Critical Facilities map to identify assets we need to be aware of, hazards we may be subject to in the future, and information you find pertinent to this plan update. The maps will be available at Town Hall until September 9th. Your feedback will help the town better understand which hazards concern you most, how prepared you feel, and what steps you believe should be taken to
improve community resilience. Whether you’ve lived here your whole life or just moved to town, your perspective is valuable. The survey will be open until September 20th.

The survey is quick, anonymous, and open to all. You can take it online by going to https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/cbQcACejac, visiting the Town’s website, or filling out a hard copy at the Town Offices.

Thank you for helping us plan for a safer future!
