Good morning,
Following our initial message this morning, we are writing to provide an update regarding the accident involving a bus on Route 12. Our priority remains the well-being of our students and their families, and we have been communicating closely with local authorities throughout the morning.
The bus involved was our Fitzwilliam bus (M-2), which was carrying 13 Monadnock Regional Middle-High School students. The students were evaluated by emergency personnel at the scene and were determined to be safe and in stable condition. They were then transported to Cheshire Medical Center to be assessed and treated for minor injuries. MRMHS administration is on-site to support our students and to facilitate reunification with their families. They have all been notified and are in contact with our school personnel at the hospital.
I am also able to share that I have been in contact with First Student, who reports that their bus driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
On behalf of the whole district, we would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the first responders and emergency personnel who were on the scene this morning. Their quick action kept our kids safe and supported during a very scary moment; we truly cannot thank them enough for everything they do.
Questions regarding the details of the accident should be directed to local authorities, as the district does not have further information to share at this time.
Thank you,
Jeremy Rathbun
