The Village of Swanton Fire & EMS Division continues to set a high standard for emergency services through its commitment to training, professionalism, and community safety.
Over the past year, the department has achieved several significant milestones, including:
✅ Improved the Village's ISO rating from 5/5Y to 4/4Y, reflecting enhanced fire protection capabilities.
✅ Earned Lexipol recognition for excellence in training, validating the department's commitment to professional development.
✅ Completed more than 2,000 hours of training, with personnel earning advanced fire and EMS certifications.
✅ Maintained a full roster of 34 highly qualified members while achieving exceptional retention.
✅ Sustained strong operational readiness with an average daily staffing level of 4.8 personnel and maximum staffing levels over 80% of the time.
✅ Successfully completed a multi-year emergency management exercise with a near-perfect score and obtained licensure through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
✅ Conducted fire safety inspections at 142 of 154 commercial occupancies, achieving a 92% completion rate and helping reduce community risk.
These accomplishments reflect the dedication of the men and women of Swanton Fire & EMS and demonstrate the value of continued investment in training, equipment, and personnel.
