🔥Working Fire - K9 Rescue🔥
At approximately 9:52 PM, Swansboro Fire Department was dispatched on automatic aid for a reported residential fire.
Squad 17 arrived on scene to find heavy fire conditions showing from the front of a single-story, single-family dwelling. Crews quickly went to work, making the initial stretch and initiating an aggressive interior attack.
Onslow County Fire Rescue Engine 205 arrived shortly after, establishing a water supply to Squad 17 and providing additional personnel to support fire attack operations. Swansboro Car 1 assumed the command role.
Additional units arrived and assisted with search and overhaul. During the search, crews located the resident’s dog. Personnel from Onslow County EMS quickly deployed a pet oxygen mask, providing lifesaving care. The dog became more responsive on scene and was transported by Swansboro Police Department to Swansboro Animal Hospital, where she was stabilized.
Incidents like this highlight what it truly means to operate as one team. Strong coordination, rapid response, and shared commitment made a difference tonight.
