Please join us in welcoming the newest addition to the Swampscott Police Department, Officer Nate Espinal 👮‍♂️🚓. Officer Espinal recently graduated from the Lynnfield Police Academy after months of hard work, training, and commitment. We are incredibly proud of his achievement and thrilled to have him join our ranks.

Starting this week, he will be begin our Field Training Program, riding alongside our veteran officers. Swampscott is a truly special place, and taking the oath to protect and serve this community is a point of immense pride for all of us. We know Officer Espinal will quickly discover the greatness of our town and the incredible residents who make it such a wonderful place to live and work.

If you see Officer Espinal out and about in our neighborhoods, please be sure to say hello 👋 and give him a warm Swampscott welcome!

Last year this scooter was found around the Phillips Park area. SPD is looking to find the owner of the scooter before it is considered abandon property. Person claiming ownership would need to show proof. Paperwork with serial number is preferred.

Swampscott PD and FD responded to the area of #129 Walker Rd. on a report of a tree limb that caught fire. At this time, National Grid Electric is working to restore power to those affected.

Traffic between Walker Rd. at Swampscott Ave. and Walker Rd. at Paradise Rd. is currently blocked. The road will be re-opened as soon as possible.

Starting this Tuesday, June 23rd, the Mall Access Rd., which connects Paradise Rd to Essex St., will be closed due to construction. This closure is expected to last until Thursday, June 25th. All businesses will remain open. People wishing to visit businesses in the plaza will not be able to enter from Essex St. and must use the Paradise Rd entrance. Once the construction has been completed, and the roadway is open, we will notify the public with another post. -Thank you

Please Share: Lock it - Hide it - Keep it! There have been several recent car break-ins in town. All vehicles that were entered had one thing in common...they were all unlocked. Thieves typically won't waste time entering a locked vehicle unless there are valuables visible. Simply locking your vehicle and hiding anything of value can protect you from becoming a victim. If you see or hear anything suspicious please call us. The smallest tip can be helpful in preventing future thefts. Lock your vehicle, Hide your valuables, and Keep your property!

Today, the Swampscott Police Department welcomes Ofc. Stephen Coughlin, who joins our Department from the Houston Police Department.

Ofc. Coughlin was sworn in this morning by Town Clerk DuPont and will now begin his field training program.

The Swampscott Police Department is aware of a power outage throughout Town. National Grid has been notified of the outage and is working to restore power as soon as possible.

We are sharing this from our Swampscott Recreation Department. This type of behavior and its aftermath will not be tolerated.

As a reminder, please do not leave trash behind at beaches and beach fires require a permit issued only by the Swampscott Fire Department.
