The attractive new complex was completed in December 2004 and is now home to Leelanau County Emergency Management/9-1-1. Dispatchers are generally the first contact made during an emergency. They are considered a critical link between the public and Emergency Services. We've already received more snow than was originally expected. Snowy conditions will continue through the rest of the day before a quieter day on Saturday. We'll see another strong storm move in throughout the day on Sunday with accumulation totals possibly in the double digits.

Please plan accordingly and prepare for possible power outages. Have enough food and water on hand for at least 3 days. If you experience any power outages, you will need to contact your utility provider for estimated times of restoration. Should power outages become long-term, warming shelters will be identified and communicated out over social media and on our County website.

Winter is back with a vengeance!
MANY vehicles in the ditch this morning. Roadways are not the greatest. Snow, blowing snow, and limited visibility.

Do not drive unless you absolutely have to. Please allow the Road Commission to do their magic. Snow conditions will lessen in the afternoon, but strong winds will still create blowing snow and limited visibility.

Storm conditions should dissipate early tomorrow morning. We could see 8"+ when it's all said and done.
