It is with heavy hearts and inexplicable sadness that we share the news of today's passing of paramedic Greg Wolfe. Greg had a long career in EMS with KCEAA and other agencies throughout the region, as well as serving as a flight paramedic for Air Evac Lifeteam. He was a military veteran, whose greatest source of pride was his two daughters and four grandchildren.
But while his service to helping others will be remembered throughout the region, those who worked with Greg in EMS and at the Cedar Grove Fire Department know him best for his quick wit and his no-holds-barred approach to just about everything. Coupled with that was deep affection for his co-workers and celebrating their accomplishments, particularly in his final role in our Education Department.
Today, many in EMS are sharing stories about Greg, (and there are many), and remembering how he brightened our lives and made them better. If you knew him, you know he spoke of his friends and family as if they were rock stars, with admiration and love and loyalty. Please keep his family, friends and co-workers in your thoughts as they move forward in the days ahead.
