This weekend was a true reminder of the dedication, sacrifice, and teamwork that make the fire service family so special. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our members and the fellow volunteer firefighters who answered the call and stood beside us throughout an extremely busy holiday weekend of emergencies across our community.

Over the course of the weekend, crews responded to multiple incidents including motor vehicle accidents along Interstate 79, a structure fire that kept firefighters operating on scene for more than six hours, a landing zone setup for both HealthNet and Jan-Care, a dirt bike accident, and several EMS assist calls. From the first tones to the final cleanup, responders worked tirelessly to protect lives and support one another through every situation.

Incidents like these require long hours, quick decision-making, and a tremendous amount of teamwork. Whether directing traffic on the interstate, stretching hose lines at the fire scene, assisting EMS personnel, or helping coordinate emergency air medical operations, every firefighter and responder played an important role.

Volunteer fire departments continue to serve as the backbone of many communities, and weekends like this highlight the commitment these men and women make to leave their families, jobs, and personal time behind whenever help is needed. The dedication shown by everyone involved did not go unnoticed.

To every volunteer firefighter, BCEMS, WVSP, BCSD, BC911 dispatchers & all emergency responders who assisted us this weekend — thank you for your professionalism, hard work, and continued support. We are proud to serve alongside you and grateful for the partnerships and friendships that help keep our communities safe every single day.
