Due to unforseen circumstances and a low supply of Rabies Serum this year at the State level,we are sorry to announce that the Annual Sussex Borough Rabies Clinic in November is Canceled for this year. HOWEVER here is a list of nearby Clinics held in November..Franklin 11/1, 1-3pm*/Lafayette 11/1, 9-noon*,Vernon 11/1,10-1pm*,Branchville 11/7,5-7 pm*and Wantage 11/14 6pm-7:30pm.I will post a printed page tomorrow with additional info.🌟🐕🐈 Thank you

WHAT...For the Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 102. For the Excessive Heat Watch, dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 105 possible.

WHERE...Portions of northern New Jersey and southeast Pennsylvania.

WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, until 6 AM EDT Sunday. For the Excessive Heat Watch, from Sunday morning through Sunday evening.

IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Dear colleagues,
Please find attached a Health Advisory on Tianeptine from the NJ Department of Health.

The New Jersey Poison Center (NJPIES) has recently identified a cluster of poisoning cases involving tianeptine, a substance with opioid-like effects that is being falsely marketed and sold across the state in gas stations and online as a dietary supplement. Common names for tianeptine include “gas station heroin,” “ZaZa Red,” or “Neptune’s Elixir” (among others). Tianeptine use can lead to serious health complications and even death.

Over the 60-day period from June 17 to August 17, NJPIES has received 9 calls about patients poisoned by tianeptine, and some patients have become critically ill. Due to this cluster of cases and previous FDA warnings, the NJDOH has increased surveillance efforts around this substance and urges New Jersey residents to be cautious.

Due to the Canadian wildfires,as of 12:00 the air quality index is now in the red zone at 159 but will be changing shortly and expected to go higher....If you are elderly, have breathing problems, heart disease or health issues in general be aware of how you feel, if outside for long periods of time..And watch small children and pets...Be cautious take care
