Congratulations to the students receiving Youth Scholarship Awards! We wish you great success in your future endeavors.

During last night's City Council meeting, nine local students were awarded Surprise Youth Scholarships in recognition of their outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements in our community. A total of $20,000 in scholarships was awarded to help these graduating high school seniors afford further educational opportunities. Congratulations!

Congregate Meal Program. Nutritious meals are available at the Surprise Senior Center for eligible adults, with a suggested contribution. Adults aged 60+ | 50-59 who are spouses of those 60+ | individuals with a verifiable disability, the suggested contribution is $2.50. For individuals under 60, who do not meet eligibilities, the meal fee is $5.00. Reservations are required. The Congregate Meal Program is sponsored in part by the Area Agency on Aging, Region 1.

During the 2025–2026 school year, Honor Dance held 8 monthly sessions at the Surprise Resource Center, offering a total of 32 individual classes and allowing 53 children ages 3–5 to have access to dance education.

We are grateful for Rachel and the entire HonorDance team for their dedication to families served at the Surprise Resource Center.

We truly value this collaboration and look forward to continuing to work with Honor Dance in the future through Pre-K sessions at the Surprise Resource Center.

America’s Sweetheart’s performance includes a special tribute honoring veterans, Gold Star families and active-duty service members. Eligible guests can receive a complimentary concession item (hot dog or popcorn) by selecting the Military and Veteran Appreciation add-on during ticket checkout.

Congratulations to the participants of the 10th anniversary City Court Academy.

Students completed seven weeks of classes, explored the court system through hands-on learning experiences, and visited the Arizona Supreme Court for a question-and-answer session with the justices.

The program concluded with a mock trial and presentations to City Council, highlighting what participants learned throughout the academy.

Thank you to Judge Dominguez, Judge Gaudreau, and everyone who helped make this milestone year a success.

The free Family, Friend and Neighbor Program supports caregivers with practical tools, guidance, and a strong support system.

In this program, you will learn about:

Healthy eating, safe sleep, and water safety
Child development
Ways to manage frustration in young children
Connections to early childhood professionals

Participants will also receive:

Free CPR and First Aid certification
On-site child care
Participant incentives
