Today I hiked to the top of grandfather mountain with a group of friends for our 9/11 workout. During the hike I reflected… 25 years ago I was walking back from the r***e range during recruit training at Parris Island SC. Everything changed that day. I saw recruits pulled from the company after the Bn commander and chaplain notified everyone. The depot was on lock down and we could tell the drill instructors were anxious. My first unit was 11th Marines and their mindset had already shifted. We weren’t just training to do our jobs we were actually training to deploy and go to combat. Today we commemorate and remember those who lost their lives that day and the bravery of those who ran into the towers to save people. Please take a moment to remember them.

1 year ago today we delivered this to Fort Brag to be presented to Paula Knauss Selph In such tragedy it was an honor to help honor her son. I want to thank everyone who had a hand in making this happen. This is what Bells is all about. Giving back to those who have lost more than we can ever imagine in honor and memory of SSgt Vincent Bell.

I’m normally one to comment about out of regs uniform’s (normally via DM) and the pomp and circumstance of military customs and courtesies. I’m retired now so it’s at the bottom of my list unless I’m making a Shadowbox. I’ve seen comments on other posts about this young man’s uniform and you know what? As far as I’m concerned he can wear it however he wants. I can only imagine that it was/is the worst day of his entire life and now he has to relive every second of it on the anniversary. For all of the bro vets and the Marines giving the comment section hell… for one moment imagine what he is enduring in that moment and every moment that led to the bronze star being pinned on his chest. Calm down and move along. There are plenty of other posts to troll.
