2021 book #16

I love a good steamy Jill Shalvis book, but if that’s what you’re craving this one isn’t it.

Kinsey has kidney failure, needs a transplant, and has the biggest chip on her shoulder you’ll ever see.

Brynn is trying to find her place in life after a rough break up with her ex. She moves back home to discover Kinsey and Eli, whom she went to camp with as a kid.

Along with Eli’s brother Max, the quad bump through everyday life with some pretty secrets between them.

This isn’t her normal style. It was still good but it was a lot of secrets and figure pointing mixed with a lot of hurt feelings. It’s a good, quick read.

2021 book #15

Meet the Grey sisters. They SUCK at communication with each other, their dad is bitter at the universe, and they are all unhappy. Makes you want to read this one right? 😂

This book was so complex for all the right reasons. The storyline moved so rapidly that I was sucked into every single page. I laughed, I had crocodile tears running down my face, I even got so angry I had to put the book down and walk away.

This. Book. Was. Amazing.

I can’t read a lot of her stuff, it puts my emotions on a rollercoaster. There’s one thing - every book I read the dad or main male character is a total ass. Makes you think about where she’s pulling that from.

Read this one, I thought it was good, a few slow parts here and there, but overall recommended.

2021 book #14

Holland has found the man of her dreams. Who cares if he doesn’t even know she exists, or that she doesn’t have a clue what his name is, he is the one. Her obsession with watching him play music in the subway quickly turns into a massive opportunity for both her and the mystery man Calvin. Come to find out, he’s in the country illegally, and his exceptional musical talents are needed to make her employers dreams come true. Just how far will Holland take her obsession with Calvin to make those dreams a reality?

This book was cute, it was a bit slow in parts, and Holland drove me a little nuts with her insecurities, but it was good. If you’re looking for a quick romantic read, grab this one.

2021 book #13

If you’ve been following along, you’ll see I have an unhealthy obsession with Mia Sheridan lately. Our book club read the first book of this pair - Where the Blame Lies and it was intense and so good, one of those books where you still talk about it. Ever since then I’ve tried to read everything of hers. Her romances make you want to smoke a carton of ci******es after you read them and her thrillers are so deep and dark, you’ll wonder what kind of monster lives in her mind.

Tip: I had to give myself a little refresher of what happened at the end of Where the Blame lies, and you’ll need to do a quick character refresh if it’s been awhile since you read that one.

This one took a bit to get into, I felt as if there was a lot of filler information that wasn’t really relevant. The ending though? Whoa...😳

Definitely get your hands on these two books. And then read Verity 😉

2021 book #12

This is book 3 in the Paradise series.

I was expecting big things for Irene, Baker, and Cash, and I won’t sugarcoat it - I was disappointed with how Hilderbrand wrapped this one up.

The first book was amazing, the second was just ok, and this one? Meh.

I absolutely loved these characters. You know when you’re reading and reading and you think hmm there’s only a few pages left here and then it feels as if they cram 150 pages into about 8? That was this book. It tells the story from the perspective of a character, and then switches characters with quite a bit of overlapping on the story.

I’d read the trio, but only because the first one is good and the overall concept is perfect.

2021 book #11

Literally my favorite one of the Icicle Falls series because it’s not based on one or two characters. This book made me fall in love with the town and all its charm all over again. I felt very Virgin Riverish with this book and now I want to visit this fictional town.

This series has been rough, it’s not my favorite, but this book is wonderful. I’d read it even if I wasn’t going to read the rest of them!
