🇺🇸 Remembering the Fallen. Protecting the Living. 🇺🇸

Today, as we gather with family and friends to enjoy the long weekend, the Sunset Police Department pauses to solemnly honor and remember the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We also hold the families and loved ones of our fallen heroes in our hearts and prayers.

As you celebrate today, please help us keep our community safe so everyone makes it home:

🔹 Drive Sober: Always designate a sober driver.
🔹 Buckle Up: Ensure all passengers are secured.
🔹 Stay Alert: Be patient and courteous on the roadways.

Have a meaningful and reflective Memorial Day.

The Sunset Police Department would like to echo Governor Landry on the upcoming sever winter weather. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

“Hey Louisiana, this is Governor Jeff Landry. We have some dangerously cold and icy weather on its way. We want you to stay safe and we want you to stay off roads affected by winter weather. This allows first responders and lineman to safely respond to service calls. Remain safe by complying with the guidance of your local officials and go to GetAGamePlan.org for winter weather generator and heating safety tips. Again, stay warm, stay safe, and stay off the road. Thank you.”

When severe weather strikes, will you be ready? It's critical that you are, for your safety and your family's. The key is to have a winning game plan. We want to help.
