𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂 𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐍

6th Street is one of the more heavily traveled roads on Sunset Beach Island. The busy summer seasons bring increased traffic, raising concerns about speeding and pedestrian safety.

To improve the safety of 6th Street, Town Council adopted an ordinance on June 1, 2026, that:

• Prohibits through-truck traffic on 6th Street.
• Added two stop signs at the intersection of 6th Street and Canal Drive, creating a three-way stop.

These changes are designed to slow down traffic, improve pedestrian safety, and enhance quality of life for residents and visitors alike. Please look for the new signs, follow all traffic regulations, and help keep our community safe.

Thank you for doing your part to make Sunset Beach Island a safer place for everyone.
