It’s pumpkin season at Vargas! Each student visits the Pumpkin Patch and picks out their “perfect pumpkin”! They spend the week measuring, weighing, and observing their pumpkins with their class. At the end of the week they take their pumpkins home. Thank you Vargas PTA for sponsoring this educational and fun event! It’s become one of our favorite fall activities 🧡

This week our 4th and 5th grade Dolphins campaigned for a spot on Student Council. They all did a great job on their colorful posters and thoughtful speeches. Thank you for helping Vargas to become an amazing place to be!

The Living Classroom presents “Life of a Tomato”. Our 3rd grade dolphins used descriptive words to describe the seeds then observed the fungi and bacteria break down the gooey membrane so the seeds can be planted. Ended the lesson listening to a book outside under the shade of a tree. ☀️

Step Up For Our School!
Our Second Annual Walkathon is on Friday, November 6, 8:45-9:30am

What is a Walkathon?
Students walk laps around the track with their friends while enjoying fun music and cheering each other on! For every lap they complete, students collect a bracelet. It’s a fun way to get moving and show our school spirit at the same time!

Grade Level Colors
We invite the students to wear their grade level color on Friday, November 6. It's a treat to see "a rainbow of students" on Walkathon day.

This event is organized by the PTA to promote wellness and to raise funds for Vargas Elementary. Your donations will fund fun and educational experiences for our students, like field trips and afterschool programs.
