As the United States approaches the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, Gallant Farm is looking back at what daily life was like in our region before and around 1776. What skills did early settlers need to survive?

Join us to explore traditional crafts and try your hand at candle dipping while learning about the different materials people once used to light their homes.

The park district was recently honored with the Quality of Life Award by the Delaware Area Chamber of Commerce to recognize the work of a local social service organization whose work has enriched the lives of Delaware County residents.

Thank you to the Chamber staff and volunteers who made this possible! We are deeply humbled by this recognition.

We were honored to receive 3rd Place in the Environmental & Interpretive Programs & Events category at the recent Ohio Parks & Recreation Association Awards Ceremony for our work on the 2024 Honeysuckle Hackfest. Partnering with NatureDads, we harnessed the power of 120 volunteers, 16 goats, and over 30 local businesses to remove invasive Amur honeysuckle, clear the way for biodiversity, and educate the community about invasive vs. native plants.
Congratulations to all the businesses and volunteers who made this event possible!

Our Story

WE ARE DIFFERENT BY NATURE Preservation Parks is committed to preserving Delaware County’s natural areas, which are home to thousands of native plant and animal species and are special places for people. We do this through extensive conservation efforts and through educational programs that extend beyond the parks and take us into classrooms in every school system — public and private — in Delaware County, with engaging programs that excite young people. The walking trails, diverse habitats, wildlife blinds, nature displays and other features of our nine parks allow visitors to experience intimacy with nature, unique from other parks, and help insert harmony and quietude into a busy world. Your next great day is not far away.
