The Adult Summer Reading Program has officially come to a close, and we wanted to share some final stats:

This year, 658 adults signed up for the reading program, up from 572 last year! 146 of those participants completed the summer reading challenge which means that they read for at least 30 hours and attended a library program. Cumulatively, participants read a total of 1,624,480 minutes which was more than 330,000 minutes than last year! 🎉

This summer’s most logged books were Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, The Calamity Club by Kathryn Stockett, and Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman. 📚

Drawing winners have already been contacted; congratulations to everyone who won a prize!

We hope you enjoyed this summer’s reading program! Stay tuned to our social media regarding future reading programs including this year’s Fall Reading Challenge for adults. Thank you for all of your participation this summer! 👏

🎉 Join us on Tuesday, October 13 at 5:30PM for Sun Prairie Public Library's first ever Book Club Social featuring special guest, author and journalist Michael Finkel! 🎉

The Book Club Social provides an annual opportunity for all of the library's book clubs to get together, mingle, and hear what titles each group will be reading the following year. This year, we'll also be joined by New York Times bestselling author and journalist Michael Finkel who will talk about his most recent book, The Art Thief: A True Story of Love, Crime, and a Dangerous Obsession. A Q&A and book signing will follow. Books will be available for sale by Prairie Pages. Refreshments will be served.

Interested attendees can also participate in a book exchange during the event. Bring a gently used (or new) book and exchange it for another title you're interested in! Any remaining books at the end of the night will be donated to the library's Read Before Book Store.

Our anticipated schedule of events is as follows:
• 5:30-5:45PM: Reception with refreshments
• 5:45-6:30PM: Reveal of 2027 Book Club titles
• 6:30-7:30PM: Michael Finkel talk and Q&A
• 7:30-8:00PM: Book signing & book exchange

Registration is required as space is limited. You can register online here: https://sunprairie.librarymarket.com/event/2026-book-club-social.

This event is generously funded with help from the Friends of the Sun Prairie Public Library.
