Now that the TA is out please take the time to review it and make an educated decision. When the ballots come please make sure you use your voice and vote. A Union is only as strong as it membership and that is you. You vote is your power. In solidarity, good night brothers and sisters

As a member of the NALC, it's essential for us to hold our leaders accountable for their actions. Today, the body of delegates took on that responsibility and made the choices they believed were right. Though I may not agree with the decisions, I will accept them. It's similar to when your favorite sports team loses a game. The same can be said about our national politics where one party wins and the other loses, and we accept the outcome each time.
Nine years ago, I was going through a rough patch. I was unhappy with my job at the post office and wanted to quit to return to my old profession. I had been suspended so many times that I felt like I was going crazy. Looking back, I realize that I could have, and probably should have, followed through with that decision based on how I felt at the time. However, a phone call with a man I deeply respect changed my course within the Postal Service and the NALC for the better. The thing he said to me still ring loud in my ears even today: "Don’t quit, get involved.” I have been a member for over twelve years and a union steward for more than 8 years. The current situation saddens me, but it won't stop me from fighting for what I believe in. If you're thinking about leaving, it's your choice, but consider this: if you could get involved and make things better, would you? If your answer is yes, I hope to meet you at a training, convention, or rap session in the near future.
I love being a City Letter Carrier and I have cherished my experience within this union. Let's address the issues that need fixing and discard what we don't need. Let's work together to build a better future for young carriers. Let's set an example! Enjoy the rest of the convention, everyone, and stay saf

Hello, my name is Bryant Harris. I was born in Maywood, IL in 1981 to Lela and Toby Harris. My family always had a keen sense of service as my dad and his brother all served in the Marines, while my mother’s brother also served as a Marine during Vietnam. My dad worked for Grey Hound upon returning home from the war, while my uncle (George) worked for the United States Postal Services as did his wife. I grew up in a loving family even though my parents separated while I was young. I attended high school at Proviso East High School in Maywood, IL before later attending Lake Zurich High School in Lake Zurich, IL. In 1999 my mother had decided she was going to relocate from Illinois and move to Arizona. After completing I went on to work for several great organizations such as MCI WorldCom, Qwest Communication, Nextel, and Sprint among a few others. I had a wonderful way with words and communications and sales came easy to me. I would joke I could sell water to a whale, but my heart would not stay in it as I lost my edge and needed a new challenge in life, so I moved into home health care in the hopes of owning my own small business. . I found myself working two jobs, one as a Group Home Coordinator and one as a Group Home Supervisor. Everything was great until changes in the Arizona State Medical System and the loss of a mentor to cancer left me without not just one job, but both. I was looking down and out, in need of a new direction and out of no where came the United States Postal Services.

Hello, my name is Bryant Harris, I am the current Vice President of the NALC branch 6156 and I am running for Branch President this election year. I have been a letter carrier since 2013 working both in Sun City and Sun City West Arizona primarily. I love being a letter carrier and I want to be at the forefront of the change needed to train, educate, and engage with current active letter carriers.
I was hired in 2013 as a City Carrier Assistant working in Sun City West, AZ. I have been a union steward in the Sun City Installation for about six years now. Now as the Vice President of Branch 6156 of Sun City Arizona I try to mentor some of the best stewards this branch has had in my ten (10) years in the United States Postal Services I hope to continue that work as the next President of the branch. I recently went to Advanced Formal A and Beyond. That experience changed the way I approach my job as a shop steward in amazing ways. It is time for me to step up and become the leader I know I can be and that starts with being nominated for the Presidency of Branch 6156. I love this Union and will continue to serve and fight for it well after my time as a branch official is over. I owe the NALC a great deal for saving my job so many times and will always be grateful for those who have supported and mentored me while on this journey.
Thanks for joining my page and I hope you enjoy what I have in store next.
