This weekend, members of the Young Democrats of Sumter , Lee & Clarendon Counties proudly attended the 2026 South Carolina NAACP State Conference and Freedom Fund Celebration in West Columbia. The event brought together leaders, advocates, and community members from across our state to continue the fight for justice, equity, voting rights, and opportunity for all South Carolinians.

We were especially honored to connect with former Young Democrats of South Carolina President Bryanta Maxwell, whose leadership and dedication to empowering young people continue to inspire Democrats across South Carolina.

As we move closer to the 2026 elections, partnerships between organizations like the NAACP and Young Democrats remain critical to building civic engagement, protecting voting rights, and strengthening our communities. Together, we are committed to creating a South Carolina that works for everyone.

The Young Democrats of Sumter, Lee & Clarendon are proud to announce that the incomparable Jeffrey Lampkin will serve as Host for our inaugural “I’m With DEM” Gala on Friday, July 24, 2026, at The Opera House in Bishopville, South Carolina!

A native of Manning, South Carolina, Jeffrey Lampkin is one of the most recognizable and respected voices in our region. Many know him from his time with WACH Fox’s Good Day Columbia, where he first joined the team following his successful appearance on Season 7 of American Idol. He later became the host of The Jeffrey Lampkin Show, which remained the #1 Sunday morning television show for six consecutive seasons.

Today, Jeffrey continues to inspire audiences across South Carolina as host of Sunday Morning Gospel with Jeffrey Lampkin, the #1 Sunday morning radio show on 101.3 The Big DM. He is also a successful entrepreneur, owner of Jeffrey Lampkin’s Country Boy Kitchen, Co-Owner and Marketing Director of The Lampkin Law Firm, a Praise and Worship Leader at Grace Cathedral, and Director of the award-winning Francis Marion University Young Gifted and Blessed Gospel Choir.

Jeffrey has shared stages with national leaders, entertainers, and public figures, appeared on international and national television, and was recently featured twice on Good Morning America for his passion for faith and music.

His commitment to service, leadership, faith, and community makes him the perfect person to help us celebrate this historic evening.
