Santee-Lynches Regional Council of Governments We work to improve the Quality of Life for the citizens of Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee and Sumter.

The Santee-Lynches Regional Council of Governments is located in the heart of South Carolina, serving Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee, and Sumter Counties. Launched in 1971 by visionary state leaders, today there are 10 Councils of Government in South Carolina. Santee-Lynches is a partnership of – and provides resources to – local counties, cities, and towns in the region, through a variety of community-

based programs and economic development initiatives. Santee-Lynches works with local governments and public agencies to increase efficiency and effectiveness, and is a venue for bringing public and private sector leaders together to determine needs, set priorities, develop diverse solutions to common problems, and capitalize on mutually beneficial opportunities.

Just a quick update, if you or someone you know is receiving texts that discuss an “unpaid ticket” and “overdue traffic fine” these are scam texts.

The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles does not send texts to collect on unpaid tickets or tolls. Their official website is www.dmv.sc.gov

Please share and keep everyone aware. Thank you!

SCDMV will be performing maintenance from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17. All systems including online transactions and kiosks will be unavailable at this time.

This program will serve residents in Lee, Clarendon, Kershaw, and Sumter Counties who may qualify for rental assistance support.
