Kiwanis Club of Sumter 🌎 Kiwanis empowers communities to improve the world by making lasting difference in the lives of children. Kiwanis has been active in Sumter since 1922!

We connect communities with opportunities to passionately pursue volunteering and fundraising that make a positive & lasting impact with children. Our goal is to help enrich the lives of children and give Kiwanis Club members the opportunity to passionately pursue that goal. We host two large fundraisers throughout the year. Our Annual Maj Gen Olsen Golf Tournament is held in September and our Ann

ual Pancake Day is held in March. Specifically, the Kiwanis Club of Sumter supports the following programs and projects throughout the year in addition to a few more:
-Terrific Kids Programs in local elementary schools
- Key Clubs in local high schools
- An Aktion Club for adults with disabilities
- Scholarships to college students (USC Sumter, CCTC, and Morris College)
- Fingerprint America: fingerprint and DNA kits to parents to identify children
- An annual contribution to Camp Burnt Gin
- Support of Kiwanis International Worldwide Service Projects
- Support for Sumter United Ministries Christmas and Gear up for Learning

Kiwanis Club of Sumter has a monthly lunch meeting on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. Currently, we are meeting at the North Hope Center. We are ALWAYS welcoming visitors and potential new members! If you're interested in making a difference in the lives of children, join Kiwanis today!

📆 The monthly Kiwanis Club meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 15, at the North Hope Center (Sumter, SC). And, you are invited!

🍽️ We will begin serving lunch at 12:00 P.M. The meeting will begin at 12:30. We hope to see you there!

🎤 Speaker Spotlight: Chairman James T. McCain Jr.
We’re honored to welcome Chairman James T. McCain Jr. to the United We Rise Summit presented by SAFE Federal Credit Union during Chamber Week 2026!

A lifelong leader with deep roots in Sumter, Chairman McCain made history early, integrating Sumter’s school system in 1965. A graduate of Morehouse College, he went on to build a 35-year career in management with UPS before returning home to continue serving the community that shaped him.

Today, he serves as Chairman of Sumter County Council and Vice Chairman of the Governor’s PalmettoPride Board, while remaining actively involved across numerous boards and initiatives throughout Sumter.

His story is one of resilience, leadership, and a lifelong commitment to progress.
This is a voice you don’t want to miss.
