Due to continued power outages, unsafe road conditions, and ongoing transportation concerns, the Vicksburg Warren School District will close all schools and district offices on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
The district continues to experience power outages across several school campuses, and many district employees are also without power in their homes. While some schools have had power restored, numerous roadways across the district remain unsafe for travel, making normal transportation operations not possible at this time.
The district plans to resume a normal schedule on Thursday, January 29, 2026, and Friday, January 30, 2026, pending no further changes in conditions.
The safety of students, staff, and families remains the district’s top priority. Families and employees are encouraged to continue taking necessary safety precautions, limit travel when possible, and closely monitor official district communication channels for updates.
