I'm a mother too, don't take my baby from me
🐒Every baby monkey sold as a pet has been torn from their home and their mother killed.💔
Primate mothers also love, care and protect.
Don't buy wildlife. Don't be complicit in the pain.
🌿 Let them live free, where they belong.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHIRLEY McGREAL!

In 1973 when Shirley McGreal’s life’s path changed, people around the world had no idea that their lives would change as well. People in Africa, Asia, and South America, who already had a passion and concern for primates. For some it was an idea, others were already involved, and many lacked the knowledge and/or the funds to start or to keep going – until they heard about Shirley and reached out to her.

And when they did, she responded. Through her tireless work, laws changed, and countless primates were rescued, rehabilitated, returned to the wild, or provided with life-long care.

She also established IPPL’s Gibbon Sanctuary, home to many gibbons for decades.

Shirley’s mission was always more about protecting and saving primates and less about herself.

Happy Birthday Shirley, and from countless people around the world - Thank You!
