⚠️ Drug Threat Alert: Cychlorphine ⚠️

The Dorchester County Coroner’s Office is alerting the community about cychlorphine, a highly potent synthetic opioid that has been linked to multiple deaths across the United States. While our office has not identified any deaths directly associated with this substance in Dorchester County at this time, reports involving cychlorphine continue to increase nationwide.

Cychlorphine is especially dangerous because it:
• May be more potent than fentanyl
• Is often mixed with other substances without the user’s knowledge
• May require multiple doses of naloxone (Narcan) during an overdose response
• May not appear on standard toxicology or drug screening tests

What you should know:
• Be aware of the risks associated with illicit or unknown substances
• Never use alone and carry naloxone if available
• Call 9-1-1 immediately if an overdose is suspected

The Dorchester County Coroner’s Office remains committed to promoting public awareness, education, and community safety. Staying informed can save lives.

Dorchester County Coroner’s Office is an approved Narcan distribution facility.

ONDCP Drug Threat Notice: Cychlorphine, a synthetic opioid involved in at least 55 deaths, has potential to spread across Nation. Read more
