Condolences to the family of Stan Mosley who was Police Chief for the City of Summerville for 24 years. During Chief Mosley's tenure as Police Chief, Summerville was among the top safest cities in Georgia and in 2016 & 2018 Summerville Ga. was the safest city in Georgia. Chief Mosley will be greatly missed & his service is forever appreciated!

Good afternoon,
I was asked this morning about citizens opting out of City of Summerville trash services after the rate increase last month. Council voted last Monday night to allow citizens to opt out of trash pickup services if they so choose.

Thank you!

Thank You Mohawk!

The Mohawk team recently provided funding for LifeVac kits to equip the City of Summerville, Georgia's Police and Fire Departments with the simple, life-saving tool! LifeVac is a noninvasive, nonpowered, portable ACD (Airway Clearance Device) used to remove an object from a victim's airway when choking. We are grateful for the opportunity to supply these essential tools to our public safety officials and the community!

Citizens of Summerville:
Monday night the Summerville City Council will be approving the 2025-26 budget. Council asked our City Manager & Finance Director to present us with a budget with No Rate Increases on services to citizens, and they did. Also, we asked for several projects at the Recreation Center be implemented into this budget. These are projects that citizens have requested. Those projects include a Splash Pad to be constructed at the Summerville Rec Center , new lights at All ball fields , noise reduction material be purchased to help with the loud echo inside gymnasium. We are also expecting to hopefully receive a $200k grant for mini pitch soccer fields at Fairway. Again, No Rate Increase on utility bills in this budget. We will also continue with our yearly street paving projects within the city and will be making adjustments to the drainage system in Town Creek to make it flow and empty better.
Most importantly we continue to strive to make our drinking water better. By year end our new water production well should be online & running through the Berryton facility. The carbon filters we are currently using to remove PFAS from our water supply continue to work well & keep those numbers well below the advisory limit.
A BIG Thank You to City Manager Jason Winters & his Staff for presenting this budget to us.
This is just a quick update.
Thank you for your
time.

Mr.Marvin Hunter passed away last week. Mr.Hunter brought so much Christmas joy to our City by filling his yard with beautiful Christmas lights, Nativity Scenes , & all kinds of other decorations. Hundreds or Thousands of people drove by during the Christmas season to see the lights over several decades. My family & I always rode by Thanksgiving night to see if the lights were on. Mr.Hunter will be remembered for generations to come as adults tell their children & grandchildren about the trips they have taken to see Mr.Hunters Christmas lights. Mrs.Hunter could always be seen as well giving out candy & waving to passersby. Condolences to the Family of Mr.Hunter.
