This morning we were featured on Palmetto Life discussing our upcoming Summerville Speedway Reunion event!
We’re excited to bring the community together to celebrate the drivers, teams, fans, and memories that made Summerville Speedway so special. Whether you spent Saturday nights at the track or never had the chance to experience it, this event is for you!

Come walk through the history, check out memorabilia, meet some of the people who were part of the Speedway, and help us keep these local racing memories alive.

Best of all, proceeds from the event will benefit Dorchester Seniors’ Transportation Program, helping provide local seniors with transportation to our centers, medical appointments, and other essential destinations. So while we celebrate an important piece of Summerville’s past, we’ll also be helping seniors in our community today!
A huge thank you to Palmetto Life for helping us spread the word. We can’t wait to see everyone on September 26!

Today, we pause to remember and honor the lives lost 25 years ago on September 11, 2001. Among those we remember are the more than 400 first responders who answered the call with extraordinary courage, putting the lives of others before their own.

We were honored to join the Town of Summerville for its Patriot Day Remembrance Ceremony as our community came together to reflect on a day that forever changed our nation and to ensure the lives, sacrifices, and acts of heroism of September 11 are never forgotten.
We also extend our deepest gratitude to the first responders who continue to serve, protect, and care for our communities each day.
We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Malnutrition can have a serious impact on the health and independence of older adults.
Malnutrition Awareness is about educating our communities on the importance of early identification, timely intervention, and effective care. Increasing awareness throughout South Carolina can help older adults get the nutrition and support they need to remain healthy, independent, and age in place.
Malnutrition can affect older adults living at home as well as those in residential care, which is why recognizing the signs and connecting people with available resources is so important.

99 problems, but dancing ain’t one!

We celebrated Julia’s 99th birthday in style with a party fit for a queen! Everyone was pretty in pink, and of course, Julia couldn’t let her birthday go by without hitting the dance floor for some line dancing with her girls!
Happy 99th Birthday, Julia! Here’s to being fabulous, having fun, and dancing your way into another amazing year!

There’s nothing quite like a little friendly competition, some great prizes, and plenty of laughs!
Our Marketing & Development Manager Alyssa and our Communications intern Mary Louise jumped right into the Bingo action—calling out numbers, passing out prizes, and, of course, joining in on the fun!
We love seeing our staff get involved and make memories right alongside our members. At Dorchester Seniors, we’re not just here to provide programs—we’re here to have a good time while doing it!
