The Dorchester County Republican Party is proud to host an upcoming debate between James Weaver and Jennifer K***a as part of our long-standing commitment to providing voters with meaningful opportunities to hear directly from those seeking to serve our community.
The Dorchester County Republican Party has finalized plans to host the forum on May 28th at 7:00 PM at the Dorchester County Council Chambers in Summerville. Both candidates have been invited to participate and were given until the end of the day yesterday to confirm their availability, with multiple date options provided. The event will move forward as scheduled.
The Dorchester GOP has a strong tradition of hosting impactful candidate events, including our recent CD-1 Congressional Forum at the Lowcountry Conference Center, the County Council District 6 forum held at Pine Forest Country Club, and the House 98 Forum held at the Kings Grant Clubhouse. These forums are designed to inform voters, elevate important local issues, and ensure a fair and structured environment for candidates to share their vision.
This debate will be moderated by Donna Klim, President of the Dorchester County Republican Women’s Club, and Nick Reagan, reporter with Live 5 News, bringing both local leadership and professional experience to the discussion.
To maintain the integrity and organization of the event, questions will be submitted in advance by Dorchester GOP members only, and no audience questions will be taken during the debate. It’s critically important to our organization and the community that candidates engage with and answer questions from those most active in the grassroots Republican movement.
