Please be advised that East Washington Street, from Commerce Street to the Train Depot, will be closed on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from approximately 7:00 a.m. until shortly after noon to allow for event setup and the hosting of our Touch-A-Truck Event.

Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes and use caution when traveling in the area. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we prepare for this event.

This week, we proudly recognize Georgia Municipal Court Clerks Week and extend our sincere appreciation to our dedicated court professionals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our municipal court operating efficiently and professionally.

A special thank you goes to Chief Municipal Court Clerk Paula Womack and Deputy Court Clerk Stephanie Lathem for their outstanding service, professionalism, and commitment to our community. Their attention to detail, knowledge of court procedures, and dedication to serving the public are essential to the fairness and effectiveness of City Court.

Whether assisting citizens, coordinating court proceedings, maintaining records, or supporting the court's daily operations, Paula and Stephanie consistently demonstrate excellence and a commitment to public service.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Stan Mosley, who retired as Summerville Police Chief after 24 years of service. His years of unwavering service and leadership helped to make our community a safer place.

Throughout his tenure, he exemplified integrity, commitment, and a true passion for public safety. His legacy will continue to guide and inspire all of us who follow in his footsteps.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working alongside him. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

Rest in peace, Chief.

Please join us in congratulating one of our officers on a significant achievement!

Officer Brandon Lindsey has successfully graduated from the Georgiaโ€™s 16-week Basic Law Enforcement Training Course. Immediately following his graduation, he was official sworn in as a Summerville Police Officer. This accomplishment represents months of dedication, discipline, and a strong commitment to serving our community with professionalism and integrity.

We are proud to have Officer Lindsey as part of the Summerville Police Department and look forward to the positive impact he will make in keeping our community safe.
