Snohomish County Fire District 5 - www.snofire5.org We protect 72 square miles in the Skykomish Valley, including the town of Sultan. Sultan, WA 98294.

We are a combination department consisting of about 30 volunteer/part-time members, 5 career members, 2 administrative personnel, a part-time Deputy Chief and full-time Chief. The district is overseen by 3 publicly elected commissioners. Commissioner meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at 7pm at 304 Alder St. The public is encouraged to attend.

🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
If you see our crews out and about in bright pink, don’t worry- we haven’t changed our uniform color permanently 😉. We’re showing support for breast cancer awareness and the fight against cancer in our community!
Crews will be wearing their pink support shirts and sharing information: "10 Screenings Women Should Know,” is a simple and practical guide to help you and your loved ones learn more about important health screenings that can make a difference.
Early detection saves lives, and a little pink goes a long way. 💕

Cat stuck in a tree? Nope! This little fella got stuck in a car! 🚗

The owner of the car called when he heard the distressed kitten and called 911 for assistance! Lt Gwilt, FF Zuanich, FF Ashby, FF Gonzalez, and FF Corn were able to safely remove the kitten!

The owner of the kitten was not able to be located at the scene. This incident occurred off of 8th Street in Sultan. If you are the owner, please call SCFD5 at 360-793-1179!

We honor and remember 343 of the nations bravest FDNY firefighters, who died responding to the the largest terrorist attack ever to occur on US soil. Those firefighters, along with 71 law enforcement officers and 55 military personnel, are included in the total of 2,977 victims who died on September 11th, 2001.
Out of respect for the victims of 9/11, the thousands who responded to ground zero, and the victims of the Global War on Terror, take a few minutes and talk about 9/11. For those who remember what happened that day, share your experience with the younger generation.

will be having a water release on the Sultan River this Saturday, September 13th. This release will consist of 800-900cfs starting at 10am. Please use caution if recreating on the river.

Extrication Training Day 🚗

Today, SCFD5 trained on stabilizing vehicles and different strategies to extricate critical patients on motor vehicle accident scenes! A huge thank you to Tyler at Elite Extrication & Equipment for spending the day teaching our crews! Thank you to braven_metals for providing vehicles so that our crews could train on these vital skills!

Brush 51 to Whitman County as part of a Snohomish County Strike Team responding to the Central Ferry Fire burning near the Snake River South of Dusty, WA.

Your SCFD5 crews have had a busy week! There has been two house fires and a commercial business fire, spanning across each of the three shifts!

A shift was able to salvage and save a large amount of items from this house fire yesterday off of Sultan Basin. Great work crews! Thank you to snoregionalfire and sky_valley_fire for your assistance!

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Flash flooding and debris flows caused by excessive rainfall continue to be possible over the Bolt Creek and Goat Rocks burn scars.

This watch is in effect for this evening, due to slow moving thunder storms which are predicted to produce high rates of rain.
