This is your friendly PSA for the day.

Accidentally dial 911? It's okay! Phones ,watches, cars, kids, they all do it. All the time. Just don't freak out and hang up or we will call back. It's our job to make sure everything is okay, and if you hang up, we call you back to make sure you don't have an emergency.

If you dial 911, stay on the line, let us know it was an accident. We'll ask for your name for our records, and that's it! Also, please do not argue with us. I promise, we don't pull random numbers out of the air - if we call you asking if everything is okay, it's because we received a call from that number.

If we keep receiving calls from a number and can't get in touch with someone, we will send an officer. If it's a child on the phone and we can't speak to an adult, we'll send an officer. We're only looking out for the safety of our community.

Also, deactivated phones you let your kids play with - they still call 911! We'll try to get the child to give the phone to an adult. If they can't, we send an officer.

In short, these accidental dials happen. It's okay! Just stay on the line and let us know you're okay.

We have several roads closed around the county due to high water. Road conditions are hazardous with the amount of rain we've received. Stay to major roads, and if you see a road closed sign, it's there for a reason. Stay aware, and stay safe!

I am way behind on posting the MARCH Dispatcher of the Month. Sorry to her for the terrible delay, but here she is!

Meet Bay. She is one of our newest dispatchers we have at Murray County. She's already won so many of us over with her big, generous heart and sweet, sweet personality. She's one of the most patient dispatchers, giving each caller as much attention as she can fully give. She's learned quickly and continues to improve daily. So when you call, if you get the girl with the super sweet voice, you're probably talking to Bay. Thank you to Bay Barger for being a part of our team, and to Bay's family for sharing her with us!
