Tonight at 8 p.m., Turning Leaf Mental Health Services and the Health Connection - SCHD(Sullivan County Health Department) are hosting a candlelight memorial for World Su***de Prevention Day at the Sullivan County Community Hospital campus tree grove, near the main hospital parking lot. If it rains, the ceremony moves to the SCCH Health Annex.

The half hour is set aside to remember neighbors lost to su***de and to stand with the families and friends who carry that loss. Everyone is welcome.

The Sullivan County, Indiana History Museum is hosting its First Annual Bed Race during the Corn Festival next week! 🛏️🏁 Get a team together, build a bed, and race it in front of City Hall. All proceeds go toward museum conservation. 🏛️

📅 Race day is Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. in front of Sullivan City Hall. 💵 $20 per team of 5. Spots are limited, so stop by the museum at 📍 10 S. Court St. or call 📞 (812) 268-4957 to register.

🎨🏃 Downtown Sullivan was covered in color Saturday morning for the 2nd annual Ruth House Colorful Comeback 5K!

Thank you to Ruth House for bringing this family-friendly run back for another year in honor of National Recovery Month, and to every volunteer, sponsor, and participant who came out. What a turnout! 🙌

💜 Ruth House gives our community a place where recovery, hope, and connection can take root. The City of Sullivan is grateful to have them here.

🚗 Remember Saturday nights back in the day? Windows down, music cranked up, rolling around the square to see who was out. That night is back this Saturday.

Cruise the Square returns to Downtown Sullivan September 12 starting around 6 PM. Bring your ride, your friends, and your family, and let's pack the square again!

Last year was a lot of fun. Get your car cleaned up and come see us Saturday. 🎶

It's been hot out there, and our Sullivan City Department of Public Works team has been working through it.

🚧 Here's a look at a few of the things that's kept them busy:

🌽 Banner installation at the Civic Center for the Sullivan County Rotary Corn Festival

Thanks to the DPW team for the work they put in, and to residents for their patience while they're out on the job.

P.S. Cruise the Square 2026 is only a week away, and the Corn Festival starts just a few days after that. That's a lot of fun happening in Downtown Sullivan! 🙂
