Air Force Sergeants Association

Air Force Sergeants Association AFSA is the Air Force enlisted organization dedicated to the people behind the stripes.

This page is the official Facebook presence of the Air Force Sergeants Association and is managed by HQ AFSA.
We reserve the right to terminate your access to this forum at any time. The men and women behind the high-tech machinery, the military protocol, the daring maneuvers ... the people who have invested their lives in the cause of freedom in America. Each year Congre

ss makes hundreds of decisions on issues that directly affect the lives of enlisted people and their families. Important issues such as medical care, job security, salaries, commissary privileges, and other benefits. There was a time when the voice of the enlisted Airman was nowhere to be heard ... until the Spring of l96l when a handful of men came together to form the Air Force Sergeants Association. AFSA is an international organization dedicated to speaking out on behalf of enlisted Air Force personnel and today, with nearly 135,000 AFSA members, the voice of the enlisted rings strong on Capitol Hill. We defend the rights of those who defend our nation.

FAMILY MATTERS FRIDAY w/Carey Crance, AFSA International Family Matters Trustee | Thank you, AFSA Chapter 1320, for highlighting this on Monday. I wanted to share again here. With most programs, if they aren’t used, they will go away. One way to ensure the program is used to the fullest is to share it over and over. Making sure as many people know about this benefit as possible. In case you missed it, here is the original post from 1320.

📢 New DoD Family Planning Benefit Coming Soon

Beginning September 14, 2026, the Department of Defense will launch a three-year pilot program allowing certain eligible active-duty service members to receive reimbursement for freezing and storing s***m or eggs before qualifying deployments or extended geographic separations.

This new program could provide eligible members with reimbursement of up to:
⭐️$500 per year for s***m preservation
⭐️$10,000 per year for egg preservation
Eligibility may include service members preparing for qualifying hazardous-duty assignments or those who will be geographically separated from a spouse, domestic partner, or dating partner for 180 days or more because of military orders.

Covered expenses may include retrieval procedures, medications, required testing, freezing, shipping, and storage. This is a reimbursement program, not a TRICARE benefit, and IVF, embryo creation, and other fertility treatments are not covered under this pilot.

Why does this matter?
Military service can place unique demands on family planning. Deployments, extended separations, hazardous-duty assignments, and operational requirements can all affect when service members have the opportunity to start or expand their families.

Programs like this provide additional options for service members to protect their future family-planning choices while continuing to meet the demands of military service.

Why are we sharing this?
At Chapter 1320, we believe advocacy also means making sure our military community knows about the benefits and resources available to them.

You may never personally need this program—but your Airman, Wingman, supervisor, coworker, friend, or family member might.

Please help us spread the word and share this information with anyone preparing for a deployment or extended military separation.

FAMILY MATTERS FRIDAY w/Carey Crance, AFSA International Family Matters Trustee | Hello AFSA family!!! How are we doing? We are almost ready to say bye-bye to August and hello to September. Before we do, we have so many chapters that showed up and showed out at our IC two weeks ago. A lot of these chapters didn’t take a rest; they went back home and kept up that momentum.

I want to give a shout-out to some of those chapters now in case you missed their posts. Keesler, you did not miss a beat. You still were at your weekly clean up. Holloman assisted with feeding 150 people in their community. Whiteman assisted with a HUGE clean up in their area.

Chapters, time and again, are showing up and showing why AFSA. In the comments below, share what your chapter did this past month to support your community.

🧠The mind is a weapon system, and just like one hones their physical capabilities, the cognition must be deliberately trained and developed to grow professionally and personally.

Undersecretary of the Air Force Matt Lohmeier spoke on the importance of intellect and the need for to pursue continuous personal growth, authentic leadership and intentional intellectual development during a keynote address at the Air Force Sergeants Association Professional Airmen's Conference.

During his speech, Lohmeier emphasized that intellectual preparation is the foundation of military resilience, providing the mental clarity required to withstand disinformation campaigns from adversaries who seek to exploit fear, anger, and historical ignorance.
