This week we're celebrating the transformation of the Old Boys and Girls Club into a true community destination for the City of Alice - Government.

This project was built for everyone. A playground for ages 2 to 12 gives younger kids room to explore, a dedicated teen zone gives older kids a space of their own, and pickleball and basketball courts bring in the adults, too. It's the kind of space where a whole family can show up together and everyone has somewhere to be.

Our own Norman Cue worked alongside the City of Alice on this one from the start, and for him, it holds a special place. Watching the community respond, seeing families claim the space as theirs, has been one of the most rewarding parts of the job. Projects like this come together through trust, real relationships, and attention to the details that matter most to the people who'll use the space every day.

Congrats to the City of Alice on a space built for the whole community, and thank you for trusting fun abounds to help bring it to life.

Sliding into year one like a pro! Happy work anniversary, Brandon Machacek! 🎉

One year ago, Brandon joined fun abounds as our playground representative for North Houston and surrounding areas. A Texas A&M grad and former Division 1 Track & Field athlete, he brings a steady, approachable style to every project, and just a few months in, he earned his CPSI certification, a difficult exam that takes real preparation to pass.

One of his first projects was designing a playground for Burkeville ISD, and he put his CPSI certification to work right away. That eagerness to learn and dig in is exactly what makes Brandon such a strong addition to the fun abounds team.

Originally from Cypress, Brandon brings a local's understanding of the region to every project he takes on. Outside of work, you'll find him mountain biking, riding motocross, or just outside whenever he can be.

Join us in wishing Brandon a happy first anniversary! We're so glad you're part of the fun abounds team. Here's to many more! 🛝

Congratulations to District 5 on the new pocket park coming to Stuart Place Road in Harlingen. We got to play a small part in it, and this is our favorite part of the job, watching a community get a brand new place for kids to play and families to gather. 🌳

This is exactly why we do what we do, creating playground memories filled with fun!

Two birthdays, one team lunch, and a whole lot of laughs today at fun abounds. 🎂

Brandon Machacek, our North Houston playground specialist, and Chad, our project coordinator celebrated birthdays this month and we would not let that slide without getting everyone together. That is just who we are. We celebrate each other, we show up for each other, and we genuinely enjoy the people we get to do this work with every day.

At the end of the day, what we do is about creating spaces where people come together and make memories, and that starts right here with this team.

The Mega Den holds over 450 kids at once. Today, it held members of the Roaring Lion Band too.

This one's built to serve Lockhart ISD students at Navarro and Clear Fork Elementary. With 80 activities to dig into, there's a little bit of this playground for every kind of Lion. 🦁

Lockhart ISD just started back to school this week, and there's no better welcome back than a brand new playground.

Earlier this week, we stood alongside Lockhart community members to celebrate the opening of one of the biggest one-unit playground designs we've ever built.

The Mega Den holds over 450 kids at once, packed with 80 different ways to play, so every kid, of every ability, finds a place to play. Inclusive swings, accessible ramps, and play built for connection, not just recreation.

We're endlessly thankful Lockhart ISD trusted us with a project this big, and this important, and grateful to Mike Giehl from fun abounds for seeing this project through from start to finish.

The Mega Den, and other playgrounds across the district, will be open to the public after school hours. And this is just one of multiple playgrounds opening across Lockhart ISD, so keep an eye out, there's more to come.

Day 1 of TNLA and we're already having way too much fun at Booth #5. 🛝

While Jordan was giving the Burke Movmnt Centro a spin, and a kid nearby saw the fun happening and just... joined in. Exactly how it works on a real playground.

Meet Simba, our unofficial office cat and self-appointed Director of Naps. He didn't apply, he didn't interview, he just followed the sign that says fun and figured that was the place to be.

We spend our days building the spaces where communities gather, play, and make memories, and it turns out even the office cat can find his way to it. 🛝
