First Colony Branch Library - FBCL The First Colony Branch Library in Sugar Land is one of 12 branches of Fort Bend County Libraries, a public library system in Fort Bend County, Texas.

Fort Bend County Libraries' First Colony Branch Library opened in June 1993, the second of the four new branches built with bond-election funds voted for in 1989. The mission of Fort Bend County Libraries is to bring people, information and ideas together to enrich lives, expand minds, and strengthen our community. Families and children are invited to join us for a fun carnival time to kick-off the Summer Reading Challenge! Join us this Tuesday, June 2, at 2:00 pm, in the Meeting Room, to participate in a library scavenger hunt and prizes, or enjoy balloon artists, games, and crafts. Readers of all ages will have the opportunity to sign-up and ask questions about the Summer Reading Challenge. This will be a come-and-go program. This program is made possible by the Friends of the First Colony Branch Library.

Toddler Time (ages 1-3 years) is Wednesday and Thursday at 10:15 am, and Family Story Time, for families with children of all ages, is on Wednesday at 11:30 am.
