Attention Everyone, we will be hosting TWO Ribbon Cutting events on Saturday, October 3rd for the new playground at Mallard Park at 9:30 am and for the newly redeveloped Black Walnut Park at 11:30 am.
Everyone is invited to come out and be part of these ribbon cutting and photo opportunity moments.
Lending a hand, the Sugar Grove Public Library will have a temporary story walk along the woodlot trail for that weekend.
After we cut the ribbons, we will hang around to play on the new playgrounds with the families in the neighborhoods and enjoy the park together for a while.
We hope to see you there! And we hope you have all been enjoying the new play structures and park amenities!
Special Thanks to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources who provided funding for the redevelopment of Black Walnut Park through their Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) Grant.
More thanks are owed to the Township of Sugar Grove Road District for helping is demolish the existing park amenities and play structures at BOTH parks and to the Kiwanis Club of Sugar Grove Township Illinois for providing funding to have accessible swings installed at BOTH playgrounds, and to the Village of Sugar Grove for their continued help through out the permit and inspection process and engineering detail support.
Finally, thank you to the Commissioners, staff, volunteers, contractors, product vendors, architects and engineers who worked for and with the Sugar Grove Park District to complete these projects!
