The Joint Staff ARE is a flexible team of Soldiers integrated seamlessly within two organizations: the Joint Staff Army Reserve Element. Soldiers serving on the Joint Staff work within the directorates supporting Combatant Command exercises throughout the world. In addition, they plan and execute experiments that test new technology, tactics and concepts that help to develop how the joint force wi

ll operate in the future. We are on the forefront of emerging doctrine and technology. We train the war fighter and provide opportunities for COCOM commanders and their staff to exercise their policies and procedures on a unique and grand scale often at multiple sites involving long distances. Duty at the Joint Staff ARE is a prime assignment offering the potential for joint qualification. ARE membership is a nominative process and selection for duty here means you are among the best. Our Soldiers live in 26 different states and two continents. The Joint Staff Army Reserve Element is a subordinate unit of the USAR Joint and Special Troops Support Command.
