The Legacy of Learning continues…

While students K-11 will return to their perspective assigned schools in Suffolk, some of our graduating seniors have committed to a higher institution of learning.
Booker T. Washington is extremely proud to recognize a family that is generous and compassionate about giving students the opportunity to receive a college degree.
This school year there were 2 former students from BTW that met the qualifications of the Patricia Fuller-Montgomery scholarship fund. It was again an honor to introduce the family and how much we appreciate the family.
Mrs. Montgomery was a renowned principal in our division who was known for meeting the standards all while teaching students to keep their standards high…

Sixth Grade Here We Come!!
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Today our proud administrators, fifth grade teachers along with our entire staff celebrated another amazing group of students and their families!
We recognized their commitment, dedication and even contributions that comes along with being the ‘senior’ grade level at our beloved BTW. Our STEM students were also celebrated for their innovative approaches and examples to learning.

Action versus Avoidance:

The classic proverb highlights one of the most fundamental divides in mindset. While one person is focused on the roadblocks and reasons why a task, goal, or challenge is impossible, the other is already calculating the NEXT STEP to get it done.

While today’s 5th Grade Closing Ceremony and Awards Day highlighted and definitely celebrated our rising 6th graders who
DREAMED-PREPARED-ACHIEVED,
it was this young man by the name of Jeremiah who did the same and who caused the entire auditorium to erupt in applauds, loud cheers, tears and even a few did a lil happy dance!

Meet Jeremiah from the heart of our Program Class paraprofessional who has been his constant push and even pull since his time in Kindergarten at BTW…
Jeremiah loves listening to music, dancing, and anything outside like riding his bike. He also loves driving, yes driving anything with a steering wheel. Jeremiah would like to be a truck driver one day. He's a young man of great character. He's kind. He's a hard worker who is very determined who always puts forth his best effort. He is an inspiring role model to his peers.

Creativity was shining bright in Mrs. Polk’s 1st Grade today! 🎨🖌️
Students had so much fun painting picture frames to hold our final class photo and creating a special keepsake to remember all the memories we made this year. 💙📸
