This Saturday, September 12! ⭐ Shop the streets of downtown Suffolk from 11am to 5pm as Taste of Suffolk fills the streets with vendors, merchants, and more. With over 100 vendors, you're sure to have a grand time perusing the booths and shopping the streets that showcase our local delights.

We're just a few days away from Taste of Suffolk! We have several options for free parking around the event site, or you can ride Suffolk Transit, fare-free throughout Saturday to make your way to the festival.

Road closures will begin at 5 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, and the following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic:

🚧 N. Main Street: between Market Street and Finney Avenue, Southbound traffic only
🚧 100 Block of N. Main Street: from Market Street to Washington Street.
🚧 S. Main Street Bridge: closed to vehicular traffic.
🚧 100 Block of Bank Street: from Commerce Street to N. Main Street.
🚧 100 Block of E. Washington Street: from Commerce Street to N. Main Street.
🚧 100 Block of W. Washington Street: from Saratoga Street to N. Main Street.

Roads are expected to open back up to traffic at 7 p.m.

We 💛 Fiber Art at the Suffolk Art Gallery! 🧵🧶 🪡

Over the past year, we’ve been expanding our fiber-based classes for all ages and skill levels. From our popular Teen and Adult Sewing classes, to Visible Mending workshops, to Intro and Intermediate Crochet and our monthly Fiber Club social meet up, we offer a rotating line-up for anyone interested in learning more about the endless possibilities of fiber!

It's Pollinator Fact Friday! 🐝 Throughout September, we'll be sharing pollinator facts with you every Friday to share the variety of benefits pollinators have on our environment!

Suffolk Parks & Recreation is hosting a BioBlitz this September, in support of the National Recreation and Park Association’s Parks for Pollinators campaign.

What’s a BioBlitz? The Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz is a family-friendly event where community members work with park staff to create a snapshot of the pollinators that can be found in our Suffolk parks all September long. We use a free app called iNaturalist to photograph plants, insects and animals to see what pollinators are present in the park. Look at our how-to post to learn more on using the platform!

This information helps us understand how we can better protect pollinators
and their habitats, which are essential to our ecosystem. 🌎️
